Dylan Gossett is a 25-year-old singer-songwriter hailing from Austin, Texas, who began his musical journey in his early teens by recording songs on Garage Band using his mother’s computer. Despite pursuing education at Texas A&M and working at Formula 1 Racing, music remained his true passion. Inspired by a new wave of singer-songwriters online, Gossett started posting videos of his songs in April 2023, quickly capturing a global audience with his heartfelt and genuine sound. His debut single, ‘To Be Free,' released on June 30, 2023, was entirely self-written, recorded, produced, and mixed in his bedroom, showcasing his DIY ethic. Shortly after, he teased a snippet of ‘Coal,' which went viral, amassing over one million views within its first week. Released on July 27, ‘Coal' became his breakout hit, racking up over 150 million streams worldwide, earning Gold and Platinum certifications, and charting internationally.
New song ‘Tree Birds' opens with an evocative Springsteen esque harmonica before the guitars and organ kick in on this folky, uptempo slice of Americana. The song picks up pace each time the bridge and chorus come round driven by that haunting harmonica. Gossett’s vocals are a real mix of Ryan Adams, Jason Isbell and a little Adam Duritz (Counting Crows) sprinkled in for good measure. ‘You remind me that there’s something up above,’ Gossett sings, pledging his loyalty and promising to always be there. He's part of a new broom sweeping its way across the Country landscape in which artists like Zach Bryan, Noah Kahan and Wyatt Flores experiment with differing sounds and styles within an over-arching narrative of earthy, organic, melody-driven Folk/Americana/Country.
In October 2023, Gossett released his debut EP ‘No Better Time' through Big Loud Texas / Mercury Records, a project entirely crafted from his bedroom. The EP garnered widespread acclaim from top publications like The New York Times, Billboard, and Grammy.com, further solidifying his place in the music industry. Gossett is set to embark on his first headline tour, the No Better Time Tour, which sold out immediately across North America, London, and Dublin. Additionally, he supported Noah Kahan in Australia and opened for Morgan Wallen and Wyatt Flores on major tours.
Currently on his headlining, worldwide, sold-out Back 40 Tour, Gossett barrels full speed ahead into 2025 with more new music on the horizon and appearances slated for Stagecoach in California and C2C in London, Glasgow and Belfast.
