Newcomer Shaylen impresses on new song ‘To Tell You the Truth’

Rising country star Shaylen has dropped her latest single ‘To Tell You The Truth' marking her first release with Nashville Harbor Records & Entertainment. Known for drawing inspiration from real-life experiences, Shaylen’s new track delves into the emotional turmoil of trying to move on from a past relationship while feeling conflicted on the inside. Co-written with Lindsay Rimes, Conor Matthews, and Seth Ennis, the song captures the vulnerability of heartbreak, with Shaylen’s powerhouse vocals driving the emotion home.

The song builds carefully to explode in a bigger, bombastic chorus that reminds us of heady mix of Carly Pearce, early Kelly Clarkson and even a hint of classic Lady A. Someone like Gabby Barrett would kill for this song!

In discussing the track, Shaylen shared, “‘To Tell You The Truth’ means a lot to me for many reasons. I was actually really sick the day we wrote this song and honestly shouldn’t have gone into the write, but I just had this strong feeling that there was a song to be written, and I had to write it.” She added, “The song reflects that vulnerable stage of a breakup where you’re torn between missing someone and wanting to call them, even though they’ve broken your heart. My co-writers and I captured something special that day, and I’m thrilled that this song is my first release with Nashville Harbor.”

Shaylen has quickly established herself as a rising star in the country music scene, amassing over 100 million streams in just two years. She has been praised for her distinctive mix of powerhouse vocals and down-to-earth charm, with Holler. describing her as blending “the chandelier rattling delivery of Kelly Clarkson with the cowgirl-next-door charm of Carly Pearce.”

Following earlier independent releases like ‘Let Me Let You' and ‘Been There Before,' Shaylen also teamed up with labelmate Noah Hicks for the duet ‘Second Time Around.'

Excitement continues to build for Shaylen, as she prepares to make her debut at the Grand Ole Opry on October 5. Fans can catch the touching moment when Opry member Chris Young invited her to step into the iconic circle for the first time – watch right here.
