Leah Turner debuts semi-autobiographical new track ‘American Made’

Leah Turner has released her new track ‘American Made', a mid-tempo semi-autobiographical song.

Available on digital platforms now, the song is backed by the gentle strum of an acoustic guitar with Turner's distinctive vocal pulling focus. ‘American Made' continues to explore Turner's blend of her American upbringing and her Hispanic heritage. The song was co-written by Turner with Skip Black, and produced by Alejandro Medina III.

“I come from two dirt roads – one from Mexico, and one from California. Being second generation Mexican American, it’s important to me to highlight the sacrifices my grandparents made to be part of this country,” said Turner of the inspiration behind the song. “We all have dreams in our hearts – they followed theirs, and become American Made, pero hecho en México. We may not all look the same, and we may come from dos mundos (two different worlds), but we are Americans and American Made. I’m proud to be American and Mexicana. I’m proud to be American Made.”

‘American Made' is the follow-up to ‘T-Shirt', which was released earlier this year. Towards the end of 2023, Turner collaborated with Jerrod Niemann for the duet ‘South of the Border'.

Those two songs and ‘American Made' will all be included on Turner's upcoming EP, which is due for release later this year.
