Adam Brucass, a dynamic singer-songwriter from Essex, UK, skilfully blends the modern sounds of artists like Luke Combs and Justin Moore with the powerful vocal and writing styles of 80's rock legends such as Bon Jovi, Foreigner and Def Leppard. His music offers a unique yet familiar experience that captivates listeners both on and off stage.
Since launching his solo career in the summer of 2021, Adam has released three studio singles. His work has received airplay on various national and international radio stations, including CountryLine Radio, BBC Radio Essex, Norfolk, and Bristol, as well as Liverpool Live Radio. Adam has also performed live on TalkRADIO with Bob Mills and GB News.
Adam's live performances have graced many prestigious UK country music events, such as the BCMA Fan Fest and Buckle & Boots Country Festival. His ability to connect with audiences through his compelling music and engaging stage presence continues to establish him as a notable talent in the country music scene and that will only grow as his appeal widens with the release of his meaty, ballsy and bombastic album, ‘Right Now.'
The album kicks off with ‘Hell of a Night,' a bombastic celebration of wild nights out. This track sets the tone with its rhythmic pounding drums, bass, and electric guitars, weaving a tale of high energy and good times. The song transitions smoothly into a rocking guitar solo that solidifies its place as a quintessential party anthem. Most of the guitar work and solos on the album were recorded by Steff Judd at the Stable Studios in Norfolk, and what a great job he does.
Transitioning into a more modern country vibe, ‘So Soon' builds slowly to an anthemic chorus that captures the essence of summer fun. Reminiscent of artists like Justin Moore and Luke Bryan, this track is characterised by its heartfelt lyrics and a captivating guitar solo that adds depth to the song’s joyful atmosphere. The track is a testament to Brucass’ versatility, showcasing his ability to blend contemporary country sounds with his unique style.
‘That Guy' offers a moodier, more introspective side of Brucass. With chugging guitars and gruff vocals, the song tells a story of loyalty and making memories. Its commercial yet melodic rock sound is reminiscent of Bon Jovi, especially with its ‘I’d Die For You' lyrical similarities and a guitar solo that channels the essence of Richie Sambora from Brucass’ old band mate, Dean Bonning. This track stands out as a powerful, emotionally charged anthem that resonates deeply with listeners.
The album continues to impress with ‘If I Didn’t Know You,' an atmospheric ballad that harkens back to the classic 80s rock sound of artists like Foreigner and Richard Marx. The song builds to a huge, unforgettable chorus that sticks with you long after it’s over. This track would have fit perfectly into heavy rotation on MTV back in the day, showcasing Brucass’ talent for creating timeless music. Similarly, ‘Here’s to the Weirdos' celebrates inclusivity with its rebellious rock spirit. The anthemic style and big rock guitars evoke the spirit of Skid Row’s ‘Youth Gone Wild,' making it an empowering ode to those who don’t fit in.
Following on in that 80s anthemic vein is ‘Tearin' Down the Town,' a drum driven song with a bit of an Aerosmith swagger which finds Brucass singing about drinking, a hell of a night and ‘the fire in our eyes while we are tearin down this town.' It's a ballsy, bombastic 80s era Motley Crue-esque song with a chorus that encourages listeners to join in on the gang vocals. This track that would make an excellent concert opener. ‘Leavin,' meanwhile, is a bluesy, late night hotel bar song that evokes comparisons with songs like ‘Always’ from Bon Jovi. It builds to a delightfully melodic chorus awash with a real Jon Bon Jovi tone on Brucass’ vocals. Perfect for intimate shows, songwriter rounds and late night heartbreak, ‘Leavin,' also has another great guitar solo from Steff Judd which adds real depth and texture to the song.
Whilst we're in a Bon Jovi frame of mind, let's talk ‘Livin Like an Outlaw,' which is an obvious sister song to Bon Jovi’s ‘Wanted: Dead or Alive.' Here Brucass channels country & rock effortlessly whilst singing about pistols, late night bars, whiskey in a jar, sunsets and six strings. ‘I’m a wanted man but I ain’t on the run,’ Brucass sings on this bombastic country rock banger replete with another huge 80s rock guitar solo to rival anything Richie Sambora or Eddie Van Halen ever did back in the day.
Closing out the album, ‘Forever' is a lighter, mid-tempo ballad with a banjo line that adds a touch of country to the classic rock structure. Brucass sings about enjoying life’s simple pleasures, rounding off the album with positive vibes and a sense of contentment. ‘Right Now' is a masterful blend of country and hard rock, showcasing Adam Brucass’ exceptional talent and his ability to create music that honours the past while looking toward the future. This album is a must-listen for fans of both genres, offering a rich, engaging listening experience that leaves you wanting more.
