Director Andy Vallentine's critically acclaimed film ‘The Mattachine Family' is available on VOD now.
Vallentine co-wrote the screenplay with his brother Danny, and assembled a star-studded cast that includes Nico Tortorella (‘Scream 4') Juan Pablo Di Pace (‘Mamma Mia!') and Emily Hampshire (‘Schitt's Creek'). The cast also features Garrett Clayton (‘King Cobra') and Carl Clemons-Hopkins (‘Hacks'). Watch the trailer below:
While Thomas and Oscar are very much in love, after their first foster child returns to his birth mother, they find they have different ideas of what making a family actually means.
The title of the film, The Mattachine Family, is a reference to one the first US gay rights organisation that was founded by Harry Hay in 1950. It campaigned to decriminalise homosexuality as well as defend other civil rights.
