Supernatural period drama ‘Inspector Ricciardi' is returning to C4 Streaming in July courtesy of Walter Presents.
Set in the characteristic narrow street of 1930s Naples, the series stars Lino Guanciale, Antonio Milo, Enrico Ianniello, Serena Iansiti, Maria Vera Ratti, Marco Palvetti, Nunzia Schiano, Mario Pirrello and Fabrizia Sacchi. It is created by Gianpaolo Tescari.
With his extraordinary intuitive skills, Ricciardi solves the most difficult murder cases, aided by the faithful Maione and the medical examiner Bruno Modo.
The aura of mystery that surrounds him makes him a man courted by many women. But for fear of passing on his family curse to his future children, Ricciardi has decided to give up altogether on love, despite the strong feelings between him and his next-door neighbour, the shy Enrica. In this new season, Livia – who has been trying to dent the man’s heart for some time and seems willing to do anything to win him over – is joined by Countess Bianca Palmieri di Roccaspina with whom Inspector Ricciardi has much to share. The inspector will soon have to make a choice.
Capturing murderers is Ricciardi's obsession as he is haunted by a family curse inherited from his mother – he has an unsual gift of seeing the ghosts of people who died violently and hearing their last thoughts.
In the opening episode, there is a dead body at Bancolotto in Vicolo della Speranzella, it is the man in the lottery office, Gaspare ‘O Cecato, and he has had his eye gouged out. Commissioner Ricciardi, still shaken by the loss of his beloved housekeeper Rosa, immediately focuses the investigation on Count Palmieri and his wife Bianca—the most beautiful woman in Naples, according to many.
However, Ricciardi's heart and sleep are still disturbed by Enrica, who is now being openly courted by the German Major Manfred von Brauchitsch, whom she met in Ischia.
