As excitement builds around Warner Music Nashville's Chase Matthew, the rising country star is keeping the momentum high with his latest EP ‘Always Be Mine' set for release on July 4. Matthew was recently involved with the Bobby Bones show, taking Raymundo's truck away for a month and pimping it up beyond everybody's expectations, digging deep into his past as a mechanic.
“I’m always excited to share new music with my fans, and I’ve been having fun teasing snippets of these songs on socials and during my live show,” Matthew shares. “This Always Be Mine EP came together somewhat spontaneously, and ‘Saltwater Cinderella’ is a great example of inspiration striking me in the moment. I wrote that one with close friends as I was headed down to Florida for BMI’s Key West Songwriters Festival. It’s a fun summer song about those girls that love to spend time at the beach. Hope y’all get out on the water and turn it up!”
Following February’s explosive ‘We All Grow Up' EP, ‘Always Be Mine' showcases Matthew at his most mature and melodious. The new collection blends new-age, hip-hop-adjacent beats with classic country tones, highlighting Matthew's powerful vocal range and signature storytelling. From the nostalgic title track and the playful ‘Crazy Girls' to the '80s-inspired ‘Saltwater Cinderella,' the EP culminates with a soulful callback to his platinum-certified hit ‘County Line,' titled ‘How You Been (Letter To The County Line Girl).'
The EP's lead single, ‘Saltwater Cinderella,' is an infectiously sweet ode to a memorable summer romance. Produced by Jacob Rice and co-written by Matthew, Rice, Alex Maxwell, and Will Pattat, the track features catchy lyrics like, “Like a saltwater Cinderella / One kiss is all it takes / When she’s swimming in the water / Heaven ain’t far away / She’s the beauty queen of the ocean / Hit ya’ like a tidal wave.” It's poised to become an earworm for fans eager for new music from Matthew.
