Days after announcing ‘Whirlwind,’ Lainey Wilson's new album, which is set to be released globally on August 23, 2024, via BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville & produced by the acclaimed GRAMMY® -award-winning producer, Jay Joyce, Lainey has dropped new song, ‘Hang Tight Honey'.
‘Whirlwind’ promises to offer listeners a daringly honest glimpse into Wilson’s life and journey around the globe, while staying true to her Western roots if ‘Hang Tight Honey' is any indicator. The song is a rollicking look at life on the road with Lainey channelling some good old fashioned Jerry Reed vibes and some funky southern rock ‘n' roll.
The song is a tribute to Lainey's hard working life out on the road and the sacrifices she has to make being away from her ‘honey.' “But, baby, I miss your blue collar kiss / Just one more day to get through / Hang tight, honey / I got a pocket full of money and I'm heading straight home to you,” she sings as the song fair romps along. It's bound to be a live favourite – it's giving us ‘Road Runner' vibes!
Lainey recently spent some time away from her ‘honey' over in the UK, playing a series of sold out shows to rapturous acclaim. You can read our review of her London show right here.
