Coco Jones drops summer anthem ‘Here We Go (Uh Oh)’

Coco Jones has released new single ‘Here We Go (Uh Oh)’, her first new release of 2024.

Co-written by Jones, the track was produced by Cardiak (Drake, H.E.R., PARTYNEXTDOOR, Kendrick Lamar) and Kelvin ‘Wu10’ Wooten (J. Cole, Jazmine Sullivan), and samples Lenny Williams’ 1978 soul ballad ‘Cause I Love You’. The song chronicles the vicious pattern of heartbreak when you’re trying to get over someone but keep being drawn back in.

About the song, Jones explains, “It’s the impossible mission to move on from this chapter, from this person, from this cycle.”

Jones initially previewed the song on social media, inciting widespread anticipation amongst fans. The teasers have gathered over 30 million views across platforms with 7,000-plus comments on Instagram alone. ‘Here We Go (Uh Oh)’ sets the stage for Jones’ new full-length album, coming soon.

Over the past couple of years Jones has been rising in R&B with her smash hit ‘ICU’, which picked up a 2024 Grammy Award for ‘Best R&B Performance’. The song was taken from her acclaimed collection ‘What I Didn’t Tell You’, which was released in 2022.

2023 was a landmark year for Jones, she notably took home Best New Artist honors at the BET Awards, The Soul Train Awards and the NAACP Image Awards. She was selected for MTV Push, BET Amplified, YouTube Music’s Black Voices ’23, Spotify’s ‘23 R&B Artists to Watch, Pandora’s ’23 Artist to Watch, Apple Music’s Future 40, and Essence’s 35 Under 35: Young, Black, & Amazing.
