‘Kaos’: get your first look at Jeff Goldblum in Netflix series

Netflix has released a first-look at upcoming series ‘Kaos’ from screenwriter and showrunner Charlie Covell (‘The End of the F***ing World’).

The darkly comic contemporary take on Greek mythology stars Jeff Goldblum (‘Jurassic Park’ franchise) as Zeus; king of the Gods, ruler of the world. He’s cruel, stylish and all-powerful. That is, until heā€™s not.Ā

Having long enjoyed his status as King of The Gods, Zeusā€™ reign has never been truly threatened.Ā  That is until he wakes up one morning and discovers a wrinkle on his forehead. Believing it to be the harbinger of an ancient prophecy which foretells his destruction, neurosis sets in: Zeus becomes convinced his fall is coming. As his paranoia takes hold, the God of Gods – seeing signs everywhere – starts to dangerously self-destruct.

And heā€™s right to be worried. Zeusā€™ one time friend and now prisoner, Prometheus, is orchestrating a plan to bring him down. The plan involves three disparate humans, all of whom are totally unaware of their cosmic significance or the part they must play in saving the world. No pressure. (Some pressure).

The 8-episode series is directed by Georgi Banks-Davies and Runyararo Mapfumo. It also stars David Thewlis as HadesĀ (‘Landscapers’, ‘Fargo’), Janet McTeer as HeraĀ (‘Ozark’, ‘The Menu’), Cliff Curtis as PoseidonĀ (‘Avatar: The Way of Water’, ‘Reminiscence’), Nabhaan Rizwan as DionysusĀ (‘Industry’, ‘Station Eleven’), Killian Scott as Orpheus (‘Dublin Murders’, ’71’), Aurora Perrineau as Riddy (‘Westworld’, ‘When They See Us’), Misia Butler as Caneus (‘Half Bad’, ‘The School For Good And Evil’), Leila Farzad as AriĀ (‘I Hate Suzie’, ‘Better’), Rakie Ayola as PersephoneĀ (‘Anthony’, ‘The Pact’)Ā and Stanley Townsend as Minos (‘The Current War’, ‘Becoming Elizabeth’).

Billie PiperĀ (‘I Hate Suzie’, ‘Eternal Beauty’) andĀ Suzy Eddie Izzard join the cast in cameo roles.
