Liam Payne has released his new solo single ‘Teardrops’ via Capitol Records.
The track marks a new chapter for the former One Direction star. It was written by Payne with Jamie Scott and NSYNC star JC Chasez. Paying homage to the late 90s and early 00s, the song is about the first heartbreak within a relationship.
Liam says of the single: “‘Teardrops’ is about the vulnerability of heartbreak and the challenge of overcoming those moments. This song marks the start of a new beginning, there’s lots more to come in 2024.”
For the past year, Payne has been working in the studio with Jamie Scott, who penned some of One Direction’s biggest hits. ‘Teardrops’ is the first taster of the new music to come with Payne promising plenty more to come in 2024.
Liam Payne has sold more than 23 million singles and over three million albums as a solo artist since One Direction. He released his debut solo album, ‘LP1‘, in December 2019 on Capitol Records, which included the smash hit singles ‘Strip That Down’, ‘Polaroid’ and ‘Familiar’. Releasing his last single ‘Sunshine’ in 2021, his music has been streamed over 5 billion times.
