Matt Terry has debuted atmospheric new single ‘Ghost Of Me’, his first release of 2024.
The follow-up to 2023’s ‘You Don’t Know Nothing‘, ‘Ghost Of Me’ showcases Terry’s powerful vocals over an R&B and hip-hop fusion. Terry co-wrote the song with producer James Lewis (Rudimental). You can listen to the song at the top of this article.
Matt Terry says, “‘Ghost of Me’ tells the story of how I fell in love with somebody that gave up on me at my lowest when I needed them most. But years later, after working on myself and moving on, they came running back expecting me to be in the exact same place they had left me in. However with time and growth I am a very different human today and Iām not willing to take any steps back. So I feel like theyāre holding on to a version of me that no longer exists, ‘The Ghost of Me’ Most of us will experience this at some point in our lives and Iām happy to say I got through it.ā
Terry rose to fame when won ‘The X Factor’ back in 2016. His debut single ‘When Christmas Comes Around‘ was written by Ed Sheeran and peaked at number 3 in the charts. His first single post-‘The X Factor’ was ‘Sucker For You’, which amassed more than 130 million streams. Terry also teamed up with Enrique Iglesias and Sean Paul for Top 20 hit ‘SĻbeme La Radio’.
After taking time out of the spotlight, Terry moved behind the scenes to write for other artists but with 2023’s ‘You Don’t Know Nothing’, he stepped back into the artist spotlight.
