Progressive rock icon Fish announces his farewell tour

Progressive rock legend Fish has unveiled plans for his farewell tour, ‘Road To The Isles,’ marking the end of an illustrious four-decade-long career in the music industry. The tour will span both Europe and the UK, with European dates recently announced and UK dates set to be revealed on February 27th, 2024.

The European leg of the tour is set to commence in Dudlange, Luxembourg, on October 2nd, 2024, and concludes in Berlin, Germany, on November 3rd, 2024. Tickets for these highly anticipated shows will be available to the general public starting February 2nd, 2024. The UK leg of the tour is scheduled for February and March 2025, with ticket sales launching on March 1st, 2024.

Fish, reflecting on the significance of his farewell tour, states, “Nominating a tour as a ‘farewell tour’ has a certain amount of gravitas,” adding, “I’m so glad that I have managed to bring together a ‘best of’ lineup of musicians from across my live career to come out on the bus with me on my final sortie out on the road.”

Introducing the band members, Fish highlights the inclusion of keyboard player Mickey Simmonds, guitarist Robin Boult, bassist Steve Vantsis, drummer Gavin Griffiths, and backing vocalist Elisabeth Troy Antwi. This ensemble, with members from different eras of Fish’s career, promises to deliver a unique and dynamic experience for fans.

Fish emphasizes the camaraderie within the band, stating, “It feels more like a Hollywood movie of veterans getting back together for one final mission rather than a rock and roll tour, and the personalities and characters involved will ensure it’s going to be fun both on and off stage.”

The setlist for the tour is expected to cover a wide range of Fish’s extensive catalog, including tracks from 11 solo albums and his earlier work with Marillion. Fish expresses his excitement about revisiting past epics and ensuring a moveable feast of songs for each performance.

The tour’s title, ‘Road To The Isles,’ is inspired by Fish and his wife Simone’s retirement to a croft on an island in the Outer Hebrides. The couple will permanently relocate to the Western Isles at the end of this year, marking a new chapter in Fish’s life. Reflecting on leaving behind his recording studio and house in Haddington, East Lothian, Fish states, “It’s going to be sad in some ways to leave East Lothian after so many years and having written, recorded, and created so much here at the Studio.”

As Fish bids farewell to the music industry, the ‘Road To The Isles’ tour promises to be a memorable and historic event for fans worldwide. Stay tuned for updates and ticket information on Fish’s official website
