Gabby Barrett unveils track list & writers for new album ‘Chapter & Verse’

Warner Music Nashville’s MULTI-PLATINUM star, Gabby Barrett, continues to build anticipation for her forthcoming sophomore album, ‘Chapter & Verse,’ with the release of the track list for the February 2nd release. Fans eager to dive into Barrett’s most autobiographical work to date can pre-save/pre-add the album right here.

For ‘Chapter & Verse,’ Barrett takes greater creative control, co-producing every track alongside GRAMMY-nominated singer-songwriter-producer Ross Copperman. The album features a guest spot from Phil Wickham on ‘The Verse: Doxology (Amen)’ and background vocals by Luke Combs on ‘Dance Like No One’s Watching.’ Barrett is credited as a co-writer on nine of the 14 songs, collaborating with heavy-hitters like Miranda Lambert on ‘You’re My Texas.’

The album delves into Barrett’s Country roots, deepening the emotional scope of her songwriting. It presents an up-close portrait of her experiences as a wife and mother of two children, with her third baby on the way. The title, ‘Chapter & Verse,’ alludes to the chapters and verses within each book of the Bible, reflecting the still-unfolding chapters in her marriage, family, career, and overall journey through life.

The album includes previously released tracks like ‘Glory Days,’ ‘Cowboy Back,’ and ‘Growin’ Up Raising You,’ alongside standouts such as “Dance Like No One’s Watching,” teased by Barrett on Instagram last year.

One of the album’s standout tracks, ‘You’re My Texas,’ is out now and serves as a full-hearted love letter to the Lone Star State. Co-written by Barrett, Lambert, and Hillary Lindsey, the dreamlike track draws inspiration from Barrett’s personal ties to Texas, where her husband Cade Foehner was born and raised. The song, adorned with impossibly lovely images of the Texas landscape, captures a mood of wistful devotion and showcases Barrett’s warm yet powerful vocals.
