Prime Video has released the teaser trailer for ‘Dead Ringers’, a modern take on David Cronenberg’s 1988 thriller.
The six-episode series will feature Rachel Weisz playing the double lead roles of Elliot and Beverly Mantle twins who share everything: drugs, lovers, and an unapologetic desire to do whatever it takes – including pushing the boundaries of medical ethics – in an effort to challenge antiquated practices and bring women’s health care to the forefront.
All six episodes premiere on 21st April exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
Weisz serves as an executive producer on the series, which is created, written and executive produced by Alice Birch (‘Normal People’).
The series’ ensemble cast includes Britne Oldford (‘The Umbrella Academy’) as Genevieve, Poppy Liu (‘Hacks’) as Greta, Michael Chernus (‘Severance’) as Tom, Jennifer Ehle (‘Zero Dark Thirty’) as Rebecca and Emily Meade (‘The Deuce’) as Susan.
‘Dead Ringers’ is co-produced by Amazon Studios and Annapurna Television.
