Ok, Halloween is over so that mean’s the run up to Christmas officially begins today! We don’t have the distraction of Thanksgiving to get in the way, unlike our American cousins across the pond, so it’s time to get down to some serious festive shopping. Country music fans are a peculiar breed so we thought we’d give you some advice as to what to get the Stetson wearing, southern loving Country fan in your life.
Tickets to the C2C festival in London
The biggest Country music festival in Europe happens every March at the O2 arena in London. Three days to immerse yourself in Country music of all styles and sounds. There’s wall to wall music around the O2 from 10.30am in the morning until the early hours. Next year’s headliners are Lady A, Thomas Rhett and Zac Brown Band so there’s some quality music to see alongside the newer, up-and-coming artists and stars of tomorrow. Get tickets here
A Yeti cooler or travel mug
How many Country music songs have you heard that mention loading up the Yeti with ice and beers? It’s an iconic brand that now has a presence in the UK. I bought a Yeti travel mug at the Long Road festival in August and it’s a great peace of kit for keeping my coffee warm on long walks with the dog. You can also buy their iconic coolers for picnics or fun days out on the beach. Browse the Yeti store here
A Country music icon in Funko Pop form
Funko Pop’s seem to have taken over the world in recent years. Most film franchises, TV shows and culturally important figures can be found in Funko form and so can some iconic Country music artists. You can get Elvis, Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash in Funko Pop form on Amazon.
Country music decals for your walls or car
It’s cool being a Country music fan, right? Liking a type of music oft misunderstood or ridiculed makes you cool, we all know that! Amazon sell a series of car decals and larger statements for your bedroom or living room walls. Click here to see an interesting and varied range.
A guitar string bracelet made from actual guitar strings!
I have one of these. The Guitarwrist is a website that raises money for charity by taking the guitar strings of famous artists and making them into bracelets. You can have a simple guitar string made wearable for as little as £30 or one from the likes of Brett Eldredge, Haley & Michaels or Michael Ray. Check out the collection here.
A record player
Country music is best experienced on vinyl, whether it’s something modern like Carly Pearce’s recent ’29: Written in Stone’ or something more classic like Johnny Cash’s seminal Folsom Prison live album, it’s a genre perfectly suited to vinyl. HMV has a good range of record players from £79 and upwards here
A great idea for the cowboy or cowgirl in your life. Perfect for festivals, gigs, nights out or just nipping down to Greggs to grab a sausage roll! Wear them with pride! Ariat are one of the major leading brands of boots and they have a UK facing website now too.
A baseball, trucker or bucket hat
A stetson, really? In the UK? Are you going to a fancy dress party? I’ll let you into a secret. Stetson hats in this country are a little ridiculous plus let’s not get into the whole issue of the people behind you at the concert not being able to see! However, there’s nothing wrong with a cool baseball hat or trucker’s cap. Spreadshirt have some cool designs for lots of different styles of hats, including beanie hats too! Make the right decision on headwear!
A nice little bottle of bourbon whiskey
You can keep your single malts and ‘peaty’ Irish whiskeys, every self-respecting Country music fan knows the action is in bourbons. Most big supermarkets carry a decent range of bottles now but if you want to dig a little deeper beyond brands like Buffalo Trace and Makers Mark you can peruse a myriad of options right here.
Etsy is your friend!
Just type in ‘Country music fan’ on Etsy and you’ll be lost down the rabbit hole in minutes. Every thing from posters to mugs to T shirts, koozies, fridge magnets and loads more is on this site. It’s a cornucopia of Country music right there with everything just one little click away from purchase!
Happy shopping – don’t spend too much!!
