Walter Presents is bringing Norwegian thriller ‘Witch Hunt’ to Channel 4 on 15th November 2022.
The series stars Ingrid Bolso Berdal, Christian Skolmen and Axel Bøyum, and was created by Anna Bache-Wiig and Siv Rajendram Eliassen .
Brilliant law firm CFO Ida Waage finds a €450,000 invoice on her desk but could it be a scam? Who can she trust? Should she blow the whistle?
Ida Waage is a trusted and loved CFO in one of Norway’s biggest law firms, Biermann and Gude, when a suspicious invoice lands on her desk. Ida discovers that the invoice is an attempt to launder a money transaction on behalf of the firm’s biggest client, the billionaire Peer Eggen, one of Norway’s richest and mightiest businessmen.
When Ida confronts Eggen’s chief lawyer, Jan Gunnar, he admits that this practice is over the line, but asks Ida to stay loyal to the company. Peer Eggen is, after all, the firm’s most important client.
Jan threatens a compromised Ida, who signed the first invoice, and asks her to sign. If she doesn’t, he can’t be held responsible for the consequences, and Ida soon discovers that giant law firms will stop at nothing to protect their image…
Lead actress Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, who starred in the hit TV show ‘Westworld’, won Best Actress at Norway’s Golden Screen awards for her role as lawyer Ida. The series was created by the writers behind 2018’s Golden Bear-winning film ‘Utoya – July 22’.
Walter Presents: ‘Witch Hunt’ will launch at midnight on 15th November on Channel 4 and be available as a full boxset on All 4 from 12th November 2021.
