Disney+ unveils epic slate of content coming in February for Star launch

Following on from the announcement of Star launching on Disney+ on 23rd February, more information has been released about the huge slate of content coming.

Star will bring over 75 TV series, more than 270 movies and a slate of 4 exclusive Star Originals at launch. New titles will be added to the service each monthĀ from Disneyā€™s creative studios, including Disney Television Studios (20th Television and ABC Signature), FX Productions, 20th Century Studios and more.

As well as the previously announced series ‘Big Sky’ and ‘Love, Victor’, Star Originals will also include ‘Helstrom’, executive produced by Paul Zbyszewski along with Karim Zreik and Jeph Loeb.

Other projects premieringĀ in 2021 are premium seriesĀ ‘Dopesick’Ā andĀ ‘The Dropout’,Ā new content from the Kardashian Jenners as well as a slate of FX originals, includingĀ ‘The Old Man’.

Of the more than 75 TV series coming to the platform, viewers can expect ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, ’24’, ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’, ‘The X-Files’, ‘Lost’ and ‘Family Guy’ to name a few.

Movies coming to Star on Disney+ include ‘The Favourite’,Ā ‘Three Billboards Outside Ebbing,Ā Missouri’Ā andĀ ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’, along with classics such asĀ ‘Pretty Woman’,Ā ‘Die Hard 2’,Ā ‘The Devil Wears Prada’, andĀ ‘Moulin Rouge’.

Star on Disney+ will be available in the UK, Ireland, France, Germany Italy, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, Portugal, Belgium, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland plus Australia, New Zealand, and Canada beginning 23rd February. Content under the Star brand will vary by market.

UK customers can currently subscribe to Disney+ for Ā£5.99 per month, or Ā£59.99 annually (annual price available at most retailers). Full details on how to subscribe available on Disneyplus.com.

From 23rd February, Disney+ will cost Ā£7.99, or Ā£79.90 annually. Current prices for existing subscribers (prior to 23 February) will be honoured for six months, with the price change taking effect on the monthly or annual renewal date following 22nd August 2021.
