Women in Country music has been a hot topic for many years now following the refusal of Country radio in the US to play many female artists.
Despite reigning supreme in the 90s, women have been shunned by the format and their success hampered as radio programmers choose to play mostly male artists. Recently Miranda Lambert scored her first number single in several years with ‘Bluebird’ taken from her recent album ‘Wildcard’.
