Roblox weekly roundup: July 22nd-28th 2019

Hello, Roblox fans! The purpose of this and the forthcoming articles is to let you know about the games that my son and myself have been playing on Roblox throughout the week. They might be new, they might be old but hopefully, you’ll agree with us that you like them. Before we dive in, if you’re not sure what Roblox is, try checking out our what is Roblox article to get the basics.

Although we’ve played a lot of games this week there are two that stood out that I’d like to share with you. The first is Speed Run 4 by Vurse. Speed Run 4 takes the traditional Roblox obby to a whole new level by adding insane speed into the mix. Not only do you need to navigate obstacles and jumps, but you also have to do it all at breakneck speeds.

There are jumps and twists to navigate and as you would expect, if you fall off or miss a jump then you die and have to start the level again. It’s a fast and furious game with genuine thrills that will have you coming back again and again in order to beat your previous best times.

My second game, and by far my favourite of the week, is Bear Alpha by Cheedaman. First of all, if you do decide to play this please keep in mind that it is in the alpha stage is not complete, the blog says to expect bugs but we didn’t come across any in our sessions. If this is the alpha, the final release should be very good indeed.

Bear is a game for 10 players, one of them plays as Bear with the others playing the role of survivors. Bear’s aim is to kill the survivors within five minutes and the survivors, well they just have to survive. Bear moves slightly faster than the survivors giving him a slight advantage but the survivors have a limited amount of sprinting available to get them out of sticky situations.

The levels are very spooky and dimly lit, this combined with the excellent soundtrack makes the game very eery indeed. Even if there wasn[‘t a killer bear chasing after you the environments themselves are enough to give you the willies.

The star of Bear is certainly Bear itself. It’s a weirdly drawn cartoonish style affair that somehow manages to be super creepy given its 2D aspect and strange costumes that you can unlock for it.
