Walter Presents: The Adulterer on Channel 4 this month

The 10-part series promises to be one you can’t afford to miss.

Walter Presents: The Adulterer will arrive on Channel 4 and All 4 on 28th April 2019.

The series is described as ‘an intoxicating cocktail of lust, betrayal and murder that is guaranteed to keep viewers on the edge of their seat’.

When Iris and Willem cross paths, sparks fly and they cannot deny the intense chemistry between them… little do they know that their lives will soon become more entangled than they could possibly imagine.

The series is written by Frank Ketelaar and Robert Kievit, and stars Sylvia Hoeks, Fedja van Huêt, Rifja Lodeizen and Ramsey Nasr.

While married to a top prosecutor, with whom she has a young son, photographer Iris van Erkel-Hoegaarde meets Willem Steenhouwer at her exhibition launch. Immediately struck by overwhelming attraction for each other, the pair soon succumb to their feelings and embark on a passionate affair.

Around the same time Willem, a respected defence lawyer, is called up to represent a man accused of murder. Unbeknownst to him, the case has also been assigned to prosecutor, and loving husband of Iris, Pepijn van Erkel. Once the lovers realise just how much is at stake, they have some tough decisions to make… or have they already been decided for them?

The addictive 10-part thriller was a huge success in The Netherlands, garnering a number of awards including Best TV Drama at the Nederlands Film Festival and even inspiring a US remake by ABC called Betrayal.

Walter Presents: The Adulterer launches on Channel 4 on 28th April at 11pm. The boxset will be available on Walter Presents via All 4 immediately after transmission of first episode.
