C2C: Country to Country 2019 – Caroline Jones Spotlight Stage live review

Caroline Jones is one of the artists that I caught up with prior to C2C: Country to Country this year. She was one of the names I wasn’t as familiar with but I’ve quickly learned that she’s an incredibly gifted and talented musician. Last year she released her latest album Bare Feet and over the weekend she made her first trip to the UK to perform live at C2C.

It can often be hard to get a handle on an artist when they perform on the Spotlight Stage as they only get to perform three songs. Caroline Jones came out fighting though and she made sure that we remembered her name by the end of her set. She opened with Worth the Wait and gave C2C goers a taste of her blend of Country/Pop. Jones’ voice is gorgeous and she can soar to great heights with it without losing any of its beauty.

The second song was Chasin’ Me, a hazy laid back number about being pursued by someone romantically. It’s a great showcase of the sweet melodies that Jones puts together complemented by her impressive vocals. There are so many little unique parts to Jones’ voice and she gets them out with her phrasing and delivery.

The final song of the night was The Line. It completed an accomplished and polished set that really showed what Jones can do. The vibe remained chilled, and to be honest that’s exactly what I wanted by the final day of C2C.

Jones played The Saloon after the Main Stage closed last night and I was a bit gutted I didn’t get a chance to see her perform a longer set. She has a passion that radiates when she performs and I found her to be captivating. Please come back soon Caroline so we can enjoy a headline show and further explore your music.

Set list: 1. Worth the Wait 2. Chasin’ Me 3. The Line Performance date: Sunday 10th March 2019
