Records mode revealed for Total War: Three Kingdoms

Creative Assembly has recently released a 20-minute trailer featuring gameplay from the Records mode of Total War: Three Kingdoms.

The mode is the more historically accurate version of the game and battles will play out much more realistically. It is also a direct contrast to Romance mode where your named characters have almost superhuman abilities in battle.

Records mode is definitely more for the people who like their Total War games accurate and without the fantasy trappings of legends. The campaigns themselves will play out in a very similar fashion irrespective of the game mode you choose; it’s on the battlefield where the differences between the two modes will be much more apparent.

You can check out the trailer below:

In Romance mode your General is a walking wall of destruction, some can even shout their enemies to death! In Records mode, your General and other characters are simply normal people. Whilst they will still give your troops a boost and will be formidable in combat, they are much more vulnerable to being wounded or dying. Testing has shown that Records battles last up to 30% longer than Romance battles and require a much better grasp of strategy and troop management.

Total War: Three Kingdoms will be released on May 23rd and you can pre order on Steam.
