Weedcraft Inc confirmed for April release on PC

In case you haven’t guessed by the title, Weedcraft Inc puts players at the head of their own legal marijuana business in this tycoon game developed by Vile Monarch and published by Devolver Digital. It’s quite a brave move for makers of games given how much bad press games can sometimes attract and I’m sure there will be people out there who find the game offensive.

In an incredibly detailed tycoon style of game Weedcraft Inc allows players to produce, breed and sell their weed in what ever way they choose. You could stay small and just supply your local market or you could choose to go countrywide, well at least where it’s legal! In the first scenario in the game players will need to build and run all aspects of their business including strains, staff, R&D, sales, shipping, customer service, marketing, politics and both state and federal governance. With state marijuana laws in constant flux, learning to navigate the ever-shifting laws is key to your success.

“The game’s second scenario includes situations that have played out hundreds, if not thousands of times in real life,” said Kacper Kwiatkowski of developer Vile Monarch. “After spending over a decade in jail for illegal cultivation, you finally get out, only to find all your fellow former criminals have a head start in the legal business. And even though your past crimes are now perfectly legal, you remain haunted by a federal felony conviction and the legal entanglements that entails.”

Weedcraft Inc allows players to influence things at a political level and you’ll be able to forge relationships with politicians and other influencers to further your cause. The game also isn’t shy when it comes to pointing out the hypocrisies at every level of society when it comes to weed and who makes the money from it.
