Claire (Antonia Thomas) and Morgan (Fiona Gubelmann) were faced with an ethical dilemma on the latest episode of The Good Doctor.
They treated a man who admitted that he was a pedophile that had never acted on his urges. The hormones that he was taking to suppress the urges caused him to have a stroke so he mutilated his own scrotum and begged the doctors to castrate him.
Dr. Melendez (Nicholas Gonzalez) told Claire and Morgan that they had to save his testicles to prevent the man from dying. After surgery the man couldn’t cope and ran out into the road committing suicide.
Meanwhile Alex (Will Yun Lee) and Shaun (Freddie Highmore) treated a juvenile offender who had been beaten so severely by his father that he had a dent in his head. Shaun came up with a surgery that could repair the boy’s forehead.
Elsewhere Andrews (Hill Harper) chose himself as the new Chief of Surgery pushing Melendez and Lim’s (Christina Chang) noses out of joint, Shaun took away Dr. Glassman’s (Richard Schiff) driving licence, and Lea (Paiga Spara) taught Shaun to drive.
The next episode of the season is Quarantine. Shaun and Alex treat two patients who collapse at the local airport and whose infection may become airborne.
