Shaun (Freddie Highmore) and Morgan (Fiona Gubelmann) took on 36-hour shifts in the E.R. while Dr. Lim (Christina Chang) was at a court hearing on the latest episode of The Good Doctor.
The duo worked through a case involving a man with an erection that wouldn’t go away and a boy who got lock-jaw after putting a light bulb in his mouth. They got stuck on both cases and tried to get help from Dr. Lim who told them to prove they were as capable as she thought.
Dr. Lim meanwhile argued with the judge during a hearing about her speeding charge and found herself in jail for the day.
Meanwhile Dr. Melendez (Nicholas Gonzalez), Claire (Antonia Thomas), Alex (Will Yun Lee) and Nurse Flores (Liza Lapira) performed surgery on a woman with endometriosis in a bid to restore her fertility. During the surgery they realised her condition was worse than they thought and the procedure took 22 hours while they figured out what to do.
Elsewhere Glassman (Richard Schiff) awoke from his successful surgery but had a vision of his dead daughter. Lea (Paige Spara) was angry with Shaun for his behaviour towards her and told him so after he apologised.
The next episode of the season is Tough Titmouse. Shaun digs into his past to help a disabled teenager who is facing separation from is mother. Meanwhile, Claire gets caught between an injured rock climber and her worried parents, and following his op, Glassman experiences hallucinations.
