Dustin Lynch releases video for Good Girl

Country star Dustin Lynch has released the new video for his latest single, Good Girl.

The clip sees Lynch and his love interest driving through the desert and checking into a motel as the laid-back song plays in the background, before revealing they’re a modern-day Bonnie and Clyde on the run from the law. It was directed by Mason Dixon and filmed in the Mojave Desert.

“It adds a tougher side to this song,” Lynch told Esquire. “It was hard to not be right on the nose with [“Girl”] because it’s very fun and bubbly and light. We had several meetings where I thought I had great ideas and would go in and pitch and then people would start poking holes in it. It was tough, we’re always trying to do something that people want to watch more than once. [Director] Mason Dixon knocked it out of the park.”

Tomorrow (18 September), Lynch will also be formally inducted as a full member of the historic Grand Ole Opry, realising a lifelong dream. He was invited to join by Trace Adkins during an appearance on the programme last month.

Originally from Tennessee, Lynch rose to fame with his debut single Cowboys and Angels, which was certified platinum. It led to a run of five consecutive number 1 singles, three top five albums and six gold or platinum certifications. Lynch’s music has been streamed over 743 million times, along with 232 million views on YouTube/VEVO and 4.5 million digital track sales. He’s also toured with artists including Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line and Brad Paisley, and been nominated for the Billboard Music Awards, iHeartRadio Music Awards and CMT Music Awards.

Lynch’s latest album, Current Mood, was released in autumn 2017. It was produced by Brent Anderson, Mickey Jack Cones, Ross Copperman, Zach Crowell and Will Weatherley, and reached number 2 on Billboard’s Top 50 Country Albums chart. Two singles from the record – the gold-certified Seein’ Red and platinum-certified Small Town Boy – were back-to-back numbers ones at country radio. Later this year Lynch will be out on the road again with Cole Swindell as part of the latter’s Reason To Drink… Another Tour, along with Lauren Alaina.
