Amelia White releases new track Free Advice

US singer-songwriter Amelia White has released a brand new track, Free Advice.

The song is taken from White’s latest album, Rhythm Of The Rain, which was first released in the UK 2017. It’s a stripped-back, atmospheric number which sees White passionately addressing the comments she’s received about her appearance and performance style throughout her career.

White says: “I could write a short story for everyone who’s come up after a show and told me what I could improve upon. It usually boils down to ‘smile more and show some damn cleavage’. I guess in some ways Free Advice is my own ‘Me Too’ moment. Cheers to all gals who ‘just wanna rock’ – this one’s for YOU.”

White wrote Rhythm Of The Rain whilst touring the UK in 2016 and watching the US presidential election unfold. Co-written with Ben Glover, the album includes White’s trademark observations and ear for melody to tell its stories, and has gospel and rock and roll influences. Her music has received critical acclaim from the likes of Music City Roots, American Songwriter and RnR magazine, whilst her vocals have been compared to artists including Patti Smith, Lucinda Williams and Marianne Faithfull.
