A behind-the-scenes featurette has been released for Teen Titans GO! to the Movies featuring interview footage with the star-studded voice cast.
Feeling under-appreciated, the Teen Titans head to Hollywood with one aim, and one aim only – to secure their own movie.
“Every other superhero has had their own movie and it’s time the Teen Titans had theirs so they go to Hollywood to make it happen!” explains Scott Menville who voices Robin.
Once in Hollywood they meet with director Jade who is voiced by Kristen Bell. “Jade is a Hollywood director and she meets the Teen Titans, who are interested in a superhero film,” Bell says before a clip from the movie shows that Jade turns them down for not being ‘real superheroes’.
The featurette also has appearances from Khary Payton (The Walking Dead), Will Arnett (The LEGO Batman Movie) and Greg Cipes (TV’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles).
The synopsis for Teen Titans GO! to the Movies is:
It seems to the Teens that all the major superheroes out there are starring in their own movies—everyone but the Teen Titans, that is! But de facto leader Robin is determined to remedy the situation, and be seen as a star instead of a sidekick. If only they could get the hottest Hollywood film director to notice them. With a few madcap ideas and a song in their heart, the Teen Titans head to Tinsel Town, certain to pull off their dream. But when the group is radically misdirected by a seriously Super-Villain and his maniacal plan to take over the Earth, things really go awry. The team finds their friendship and their fighting spirit failing, putting the very fate of the Teen Titans themselves on the line!
The film is directed by Aaron Horvath and Peter Rida Michail, from a screenplay by Michael Jelenic and Horvath, based on characters from DC. Michail, Will Arnett and Peggy Regan are producing, with Sam Register, Jelenic, and Horvath serving as executive producers.
Teen Titans GO! to the Movies opens in UK cinemas on 3rd August 2018.
