Conrad (Matt Czuchry) finally started to understand Nic’s (Emily VanCamp) concerns about Dr. Hunter (Melina Kanakaredes) on the latest episode of The Resident.

A terminally ill patient wanted to spend the time he had left with his wife but Dr. Hunter insisted on convincing him to undergo a treatment plan that essentially gave him false hope. Conrad battled against her and tensions rose when Jude (Warren Christie) inserted himself in the middle of the case.

With Nic’s help, Conrad told the patient the truth and aided him in leaving the hospital before Dr. Hunter could carry out her treatment plan.

Meanwhile Devon (Manish Dayal) assisted Dr. Wilmot (Jocko Sims) in the treatment of a baseball player who had injured his knee. Conrad was furious when he found out the famous patient had sexted Nic and confronted him, resulting in Dr. Wilmot requesting Conrad be removed from all of his cases.

Elsewhere Dr. Bell (Bruce Greenwood) tried to force Mina (Shaunette Renée Wilson) into doing a surgery for him but she scuppered his efforts by revealing Bell’s intentions to Claire (Merrin Dungey).

The next episode of the season is Family Affair. Nic and Conrad allow a homeless woman to stay at the hospital, while Devon and Irving treat a male escort.
