Kassi Ashton has released her new single Taxidermy, which is available to download and stream now.
Written by Natalie Hemby, Luke Dick and Rosi Golan, the feisty track is packed with attitude and Ashton brings her trademark swagger to the vocal delivery. She puts her own spin on the track, which is destined for success.
“I knew the second I heard Taxidermy I had to have it,” says Kassi. “It’s the perfect second piece of me. Dad used to always say he didn’t have to take a gun to the door when my date came,” she explains; then adds slyly, “I had my own.”
Taxidermy is likely to bring more attention to Ashton who’s already been picking up acclaim from the likes of Huffington Post and CMT. The track is the follow-up to her autobiographical song California, Missouri. On that track she painted an unconventional portrait of life growing up in her small town.
Ashton has been singled out as one to watch by Huffington Post, The Tennessean and radio personality Bobby Bones, who included her in his Class of 2018 list. She also features on Keith Urban’s new album Graffiti U, where she can be heard on the track Drop Top.
