Following the release of their single Still the Same, Sugarland have announced the release of their new album Bigger on 8th June 2018.

The duo’s sixth studio album is their first since 2010’s The Incredible Machine. Sugarland – Kristian Bush and Jennifer Nettles – co-wrote nearly all of the songs on the record and they co-produced it with Julian Raymond.

Bigger marks a first for Sugarland as they’ve recorded a song they had no hand in writing. New single Babe, which features Taylor Swift, was written by Swift with Train frontman Pat Monahan.

“We’ve never put someone else’s song on a Sugarland record, but we were immediately interested in Babe the first time we heard it!” said Jennifer Nettles. “This one really felt like it belonged so we saved it for the final afternoon of our recording session; a special time for us.”

“Our last hours in the studio have always been good luck,” continued Kristian Bush. “All I Want To Do was from a final session, so was Stuck Like Glue. The biggest compliment was when she heard our take on the track and emailed us to say she wanted to be a part of it!”

“This collaboration is the perfect combination of mutual admiration for each other and mutual admiration for great songs. As artists, we really see the world through a similar lens,” added Nettles.

Bigger is also the first project under Sugarland’s new joint venture with Big Machine Records and UMG Nashville. Fans can expect a mixture of fun and enigmatic songs when the album arrives.

“This album has a whole bunch of mystery,” says Kristian, who has been enjoying peeling back the layers of the production and the nuanced songwriting. “I’m listening to it every two days just to see what’s in it. I have entire pints of blood in that thing, but I still don’t know where it all came from, and I love that.”
