Deacon (Charles Esten) and Jessie (Kaitlin Doubleday) tried to take their relationship to the next step on Nashville.

Following a successful date, the couple got hot and heavy in the car and had an awkward conversation about protection. Deacon went to buy condoms and after rescheduling their hook up a few times, the moment finally came.

Unfortunately it didn’t go as planned and Deacon burst into tears. He admitted to Jessie that he was struggling to move on after Rayna (Connie Britton) and the two spent the night together but didn’t have sex.

The next morning Jessie panicked that Deacon was going to push her away and he asked her not to give up on him.

Meanwhile Gunnar (Sam Palladio), Avery (Jonathan Jackson) and Will (Chris Carmack) recruited singer Alannah (Rainee Lyleson) to join their band. Gunnar struggled to hide his attraction to her.

Elsewhere Juliette (Hayden Panettiere) left for Bolivia on Darius’ (Josh Stamberg) advice without telling Avery and Maddie (Lennon Stella) was furious when Jonah’s (Nic Luken) ex-girlfriend released a diss track about her.

The next episode of the season is Beneath Still Waters. Daphne struggles to accept Deacon and Jessie’s relationship. Scarlett takes an interest in a veteran undergoing equine therapy.
