The Great Escape announces speakers

The Brighton festival has revealed more industry leaders.

The Great Escape festival has revealed a further 25 speakers for this year’s convention, which will take place in Brighton this spring. TGE has also announced its first partners for the TGE:DIY programme, which includes, VEVO, AWAL Sessions and Mistajam.

TGE:DIY day will be back on Saturday 19th May with even more ground-breaking panels, practical tips and invaluable advice for future music talent.

For the very first time the Association Of Independent Music and The Great Escape are partnering on AIM HOUSE at the Queens Hotel in Brighton.

Paul Pacifico, CEO of AIM, commented: “AIM’s new partnership with The Great Escape recognises the importance of this key moment in the industry calendar for the independent music community here in the UK and abroad. AIM HOUSE will signpost an exciting new chapter in AIM’s story and unveil our key priorities for the future. AIM HOUSE will be a hub and home for independents at the festival with a packed programme of insightful sessions and top networking opportunities”.

Music college BIMM are The Great Escape’s lead educational partner. Along with holding the school’s annual ‘BIMM Presents’ showcase at the Hope & Ruin, they will have over fifty street performers playing at various locations across the city, and even more students working in various roles across the site providing them with valuable experience and networking opportunities.

Suzi Ireland, Artist Development & Events Manager at BIMM added: “BIMM are delighted to be lead educational partners for The Great Escape for the fourth year in a row. As one of the UK’s most important live music events, we are honoured to be invited back to showcase some of our best talent from across the seven colleges. This year looks set to be the best TGE yet”.

Rory Bett, CEO at MAMA Festivals said: “We’re passionate about instigating and leading discussions on the most important topics affecting the music industry today and our convention is a fundamental part of that. In 2018 our focus is future technologies, future markets and the future of music education. We also seek to support future music talent on and off stage, which is what our TGE:DIY programme is all about, and with AWAL, Loud & Quiet, Vevo and MistaJam all on board for that, that part of the convention will be stronger than ever this year”.
