When it comes to determination and never giving up on your dreams, we’re pretty sure there’s no better example than Russell Dickerson.
The Tennessee-born singer-songwriter, who has been friends with Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley and Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard since they attended Nashville’s Belmont University, released his latest single Yours back in 2015. Incredibly the song has just become Dickerson’s first chart-topper proving that hard work and belief in yourself is always key to success.
Prior to Yours Dickerson released two singles – That’s My Girl (2011) and Green Light (2012) – along with 2011 EP Die to Live Again. In 2016 he signed a record deal with Triple Tigers and Yours was given another push with the music video, shot in 2015 by Dickerson’s wife Kailey for a very small budget, starting to pick up traction. The song has become so popular that Dickerson named his debut album after it and recorded an alternate wedding version of it too.
Last summer, Dickerson came to the UK to headline the first night of Nashville Meets London. His set showcased his country-pop mix and he won over the crowd despite the torrential rain. After peaking interest here in the UK, Dickerson released his debut album Yours and he’ll be back in March to perform at C2C: Country to Country 2018.
Fans can see Dickerson over the weekend performing at the Country Music Week Hub and the Late Night Stage on Saturday 10th March and on the Spotlight Stage and the BBC Radio 2 Stage on Sunday 11th March.
C2C: Country to Country 2018 takes place at the O2 Arena in London from Friday 9th to Sunday 11th March 2018. For more information head to http://c2c-countrytocountry.com/.
