Hot Chip and more join HowTheLightGetsIn line-up

HowTheLightGetsIn is back in Hay this year and the festival has revealed details of its 2018 line-up, which will include performances from The Orb, Hot Chip and Fyfe Dangerfield to name a few.

HowTheLightGetsIn boast over 500 events and artists across 12 stages and the festival brings the world’s leading thinkers together with a magical programme of music, comedy, culture and performance. The event takes place in an atmospheric and intimate setting on the edge of the Black Mountains, alongside the river Wye. Not many places offer the opportunity to dance into the night with Nobel prize-winners to the sounds of Mercury Prize nominees.

Taking place at the end of May, HowTheLightGetsIn is a five-day festival of philosophy and music and this year’s theme will be Darkness, Authority and Dreams. In these dark and turbulent times, we face many dangers, threats and unknowns. What beliefs and authorities have led us here? What dreams and visions for the future might enable us to create a better world?

Festival director, Hilary Lawson commented: “The team are thrilled to announce another batch of amazing artists for this year’s festival.

“We’re incredibly proud of the line-up this year, one of our best and most diverse musical bills to date. There is no other festival in the world that combines the pleasures of music and philosophy in such a unique, inspiring and playful space.”
