C2C 2018: Faith Hill and Tim McGraw profile

The jewel on this year’s C2C: Country to Country line-up is without a doubt husband and wife superstars Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.

Since McGraw headlined the first ever C2C in 2013, Country music fans have been patiently waiting for him to return to these shores. Not only is he back for 2018, he’s got Faith Hill in tow for what promises to be one of the best shows of the entire weekend. The couple are currently in the midst of their latest Soul2Soul World Tour and it’ll be the first time the show has been brought to the UK.

In 2017 Hill and McGraw released their first collaborative album, The Rest of Our Life, which is pretty remarkable considering how long they’ve been together and how many duets they’ve recorded. The album was a big success debuting at number 1 on the US Country chart and number 2 on the all-genre Billboard 200. Lead single Speak to a Girl was a hit too peaking at number 6 on the US Hot Country Songs chart and entering the top 20 on the Country Airplay chart.

Hill and McGraw married in 1996 and they released their first duet It’s Your Love in 1997. They followed that with Just to Hear You Say That You Love Me in 1998 and have recorded several more together since then. They have a chemistry that is so special and unique, and that’s one of the things I’m most looking forward to seeing when they perform at C2C.

As solo stars Hill has sold more than 40 million records and McGraw more than 80 million. Hill has taken time out over the course of her career due to pregnancies and raising the couple’s children but she’s always kept a foot firmly in Country music. Her last solo album was festive collection Joy to the World back in 2008 and her most notable hits include This Kiss, The Way You Love Me and Breathe.

McGraw has consistently released albums and his last solo effort was 2015’s Damn Country Music, which spawned the monster hit Humble and Kind, written by Lori McKenna. Of course McGraw has plenty of hits to his name including Live Like You Were Dying, I Like It I Love It and Something Like That.

Following their C2C performance Hill and McGraw will begin the second leg of their Soul2Soul World Tour. By the time they reach the finish line they will have played 106 shows in North America and 3 in Europe!
