Justin Timberlake to release new album Man of the Woods in February

Just when you’ve given up all hope, Justin Timberlake takes you by surprise by announcing the release of his long-awaited new album.

On social media Timberlake released a short teaser video for his new album Man of the Woods, which will arrive on 2nd February 2018. Fans have another reason to be excited though as the first single from the record, Filthy, will arrive on download and streaming platforms this Friday.

The video teaser for the album features Timberlake talking about the record and there are quick glimpses of his wife Jessica Biel and their son. There’s also footage of Timberlake in the studio with Pharrell Williams.

Filthy is the first of four tracks that will be released prior to Man of the Woods’ arrival. The track was co-written and co-produced by Timberlake, Timbaland, and Danja with additional writing credits from James Fauntleroy and Larrance Dopson.

The video for Filthy is a colourful and futuristic experience directed by Mark Romanek, with whom Timberlake has collaborated with previously. The dance heavy video features Timberlake as a modern day inventor presenting his latest creation to the world.

For Man of the Woods Timberlake has been in the studio with The Neptunes, Timbaland, Danja, Chris Stapleton and Alicia Keys. He’s also released the cover of Man of the Woods, which you can see below:

Man of the Woods is Timberlake’s first album since his ambitious two-part release The 20/20 Experience in 2013. The set will be fifth solo album overall and his first new music since 2016’s Can’t Stop the Feeling from the movie Trolls.

On 4th February, Timberlake will be headlining the Super Bowl LII halftime show in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The announcement brought a bit of controversy following his involvement in Janet Jackson’s Super Bowl XXXVIII performance in 2004, which saw the pair engage in a raunchy routine that ended in Jackson’s breast being exposed.

We’re sure the new album will bring a new headline tour with it. It’s been 4 years since Timberlake last visited the UK as part of his The 20/20 Experience World Tour.
