Chizzy Akudolu is the first to leave Strictly Come Dancing 2017

Holby City star Chizzy Akudolu is the first celebrity eliminated on Strictly Come Dancing 2017.

The actress and her professional partner Pasha Kovalev failed to impress with the Foxtrot and were voted into the bottom two by the public. They were joined by comedian Brian Conley and his partner Amy Dowden.

After both couples competed in the dance-off, it was over to the judges to reveal which couple they wanted to save.

Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and Head Judge Shirley Ballas all chose to save Brian and Amy, while Craig Revel-Horwood chose to save Chizzy and Pasha.

Revealing her decision Shirley said, ā€œWell itā€™s quite a difficult decision I feel that both of them brought quite nice performances there, but the person Iā€™m going to save because I felt like they had a bit more musicality and content this evening is Brian.ā€

While speaking to Tess Daly, Chizzy said, ā€œThank you to everyone who has supported. And this guy.. this dude, I have loved every minute dancing with him and it will continue because I will just be going round his house to dance now. But I donā€™t have his address so if anyone could email me I would appreciate it! And thank you to the judges for the constructive criticism which I will take on board. Thank you.ā€

Pasha added: ā€œYou were so much fun to work with, all the laughs we had together, all the great dancing we did together I absolutely enjoyed every single second of it and fine, come over to my house!ā€

Tonight’s show also featured musical performance from award-winning Emeli Sande, who sang Starlight and a group dance from the Strictly pros.
