Mosaic by Maceo 2017 Pacha Ibiza review

Following up their debut year in the extravagant surroundings of Pacha, Maceo Plex’s flagship party continues to dazzle clubbers. I was there last week and here is what unfolded.

It was a night of first for me as up until last week I had never seen Maceo Plex dj or been at Ibiza’s iconic Pacha. The line-up also looked promising with Young Marco and Alex Boman behind the decks before man of the night, Maceo Plex would do the honours.

Pacha itself is a great club and offers one of the clearest and crispest sounds of any club I have been to on Ibiza. As one of the original clubs, Pacha also features hypnotic dancers and great lighting. Unfortunately when it comes to clubs if you don’t play the right tunes everything else becomes secondary.

Tuesday was one of those hit and miss nights as Young Marco and Alex Boman played really mellow tracks. Alex Boman started off with an interesting blend of techno and tribal beats but a lot of his set was tainted with unnecessarily long intros that simply didn’t do anything for the mood of the night.

The star of the night was hands down Maceo Plex, who headlined. Maceo did not beat around the bush and started off with hard house and kept the momentum throughout the night. I thought his track choice was perfect and revived me after two rather slow sets. The accompanying light show was brilliant and really added to the atmosphere.

Maceo Plex saved the night in the end but it would have been a much better evening had the rest of the line-up played the right tunes. I would still recommend Mosaic by Maceo at Pacha as an Ibiza landmark event.

Mosaic by Maceo’s closing party will take place on 3rd October.
