Ray (Liev Schreiber) tried to move on from Abby (Paula Malcomson) during the latest episode of Ray Donovan.

He packed up her things in a bid to move past his grief but he was plagued by memories of Abby’s cancer battle. We saw Ray accompany Abby to an appointment with a specialist where they were told she was terminally ill and then saw Abby take her rage out on the diner using Ray’s baseball bat.

Ray was brought back to real life when Sam Winslow (Susan Sarandon) came calling and told him she needed his help. It was revealed that Sam was responsible for her daughter’s death due to drink driving but had covered it up and now she was being blackmailed over it.

Elsewhere Bunchy (Dash Mihok) decided to invest in the storage facility business but had $1.2 million stolen from him when he got caught up in a hostage situation at a fast food joint.

Meanwhile Mickey (Jon Voight) helped Frank (Brian White) cover up an accidental murder and blackmailed him into starring in his movie so he could sell his screenplay. Bridget (Kerris Dorsey) came clean with Smitty (Graham Rogers) by telling him that Ray was the reason he was kicked off a clinical trial so that Abby could take his place.

The next episode of the season is Shabbos Goy. Ray’s therapy is at odds with the high-stakes power struggle between Sam and her opponents. Mickey seeks out an old friend.
