Yola Carter announces London show at The Borderline

Bristol country-soul singer/songwriter Yola Carter will perform at The Borderline in London next month.

The one-off date will take place on 8th June 2017 and fans can see Carter performing with a full band. The show follows the release of Carter’s debut EP Orphan Offering, which has picked up critical acclaim.

Earlier this year Carter was voted UK Artist of the Year at the AMA UK Awards. She also performed a well-received set at AmericanaFest in Nashville and embarked on her first headline UK tour.

Carter draws her influences from sixties country injecting soul and gospel into her sound. With her real-life experiences shaping her lyrics, Carter started writing music to express herself while dealing with a difficult time growing up.

Over her career to date Cater has toured with Bugz in the Attic and Massive Attack. She has also supported and collaborated live with The McCrary Sisters, The Fairfield Four, Willie Watson, Jan Howard, James Brown, Elizabeth Cooke and the legendary Stax Band.

Carter is currently working on her full-length debut album.
