Steph (Jerrika Hinton) returned to work but probably wishes she hadn’t on the latest episode of Grey’s Anatomy.
A car accident brought in two half-naked victims and the doctors mistakenly thought they were a couple in love. The female eventually revealed that the man she was with had jumped into her car and tried to rape her.
That revelation came a little too late as Steph had taken the male patient out of his room. Bailey (Chandra Wilson) put the hospital on lock, leaving Steph trapped with the rapist and a little girl who had left her parents to explore the hospital.
The rapist became agitated and Steph explained the only way they could get the doors to open would be to start a fire. When he tried to do that, Steph doused him in a flammable liquid and set him on fire. She took the girl to safety but when she tried to stop the burning man from getting near gas tanks, she was too late and a huge explosion ripped through Grey Sloan.
Meanwhile Owen (Kevin McKidd) found out that his sister was alive and turned to Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) for help dealing with the news. Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) realised that she would have to tell Nathan (Martin Henderson), putting a question mark over their relationship.
Elsewhere Alex (Justin Chambers) tracked down Jo’s (Camilla Luddington) abusive husband Paul (Matthew Morrison) as a conference. He cycled through scenarios and decided not to act on any of them, realising it would be bad for both him and Jo if he did.
The season finale is Ring of Fire. The doctors’ lives are at risk after a dangerous patient escapes the hospital room, and Alex must make a difficult decision regarding Jo.
