C2C: Country to Country 2017 – Maren Morris profile

Maren Morris made her first appearance at C2C: Country to Country in 2016 when she played the Yamaha Music Stage.

Despite being a relative unknown on this side of the pond and the time, and only playing 2 acoustic songs, Maren made quite the impression. There was a real buzz about her after her performance, with C2C goers keen to hear more from the rising songstress.

Fast forward a year and Maren is one of the biggest new female artists in Country music. Her debut major label album Hero hit number 1 on the US Country chart and an impressive number 5 on the Billboard 200.

Maren enjoyed a huge breakthrough with her platinum selling hit My Church, which peaked at number 5 on the Hot Country Songs Chart. Follow-up 80s Mercedes has climbed the charts fast and is on track to give Maren her second consecutive Top 10 hit.

Fans also heard Maren team up with Dierks Bentley for I’ll Be The Moon, taken from Dierks’ latest studio album Black. Although not officially released as a single, I’ll Be The Moon entered the Top 40 on the Hot Country Songs chart and quickly became a fan favourite.

Maren has just released the third track from Hero – I Could Use a Love Song – and it looks set to be another huge hit for her.

In her career to date Maren has supported Keith Urban on tour, she’s gearing up to head out on the road with Sam Hunt later this year. She also picked up her first Grammy Away for Best Country Solo Performance this year for My Church.

At the ACM Awards, taking place later this year, Maren has picked up 4 nominations!

In 2016 Maren teamed up with Alicia Keys to film an episode of CMT Crossroads, where she blended her country soul leanings with Alicia’s soul and R&B sound.

This year at C2C Maren will be performing on the main stage so I’m looking forward to a much longer set than we got last year!

C2C: Country to Country takes place at The O2 Arena in London from Friday 10th to Sunday 12th March 2017. For more information head over to www.c2c-countrytocountry.com.
