Top 5 Strictly Come Dancing 2016 week 10 dances

Strictly Come Dancing’s final 6 couples really delivered during last night’s live show.

We’re now just days away from the quarter final and tonight one couple will fall at the final hurdle. The standard of the dancing this year is so close and it’s really tough to predict who will make it all the way to the final.

I’ve reviewed all of the dances from last night and compiled the 5 that I thought were the night’s best. As always I’ve not necessarily listened to the judges or taken into account their scoring.

5. Ed Balls and Katya Jones – Tango

Some of you may be reading this and thinking ‘Judge Rinder was better than Ed Balls’ but I would heartily disagree with you. The essence of Strictly is about watching the celebs improve and Ed has consistently done that week-to-week. He out-danced Judge Rinder last night and is deserving of a place in the quarter final.

4. Louise Redknapp and Kevin Clifton – Waltz

I love Louise and Kevin but I think this one was a little overmarked last night. There’s no denying how good Louise is but I was surprised by the marks she got. It was a beautiful routine though and she danced it very well.

3. Ore Oduba and Joanne Clifton – Paso Doble

Ore manages to throw himself into (nearly) every dance he does and the results are usually fantastic. Last night’s Paso Doble was tense, powerful and magnificent. Joanne’s choreography was bold and Ore rose to the challenge.

2. Claudia Fragapane and AJ Pritchard – Argentine Tango

I thought Claudia deserved to place better last night for her Argentine Tango. AJ’s choreography was modern and refreshing, and Claudia has transformed into a proper little dancer. I really hope they don’t end up in the bottom two tonight.

1. Danny Mac and Oti Mabuse – Samba

He was first on last night and no one beat him – Danny Mac was INCREDIBLE! I’ve never seen a Samba like this on Strictly and Danny hit every single step with gusto and conviction. Oti really pushed him and she got results. Amazing!
