Strictly Come Dancing served up the best Halloween Special, possibly ever, during last night’s live show.
The leaderboard experienced a huge shake up with Laura Whitmore & Giovanni Pernice and Claudia Fragapane & AJ Pritchard sitting pretty in poll position at the end of the night.
Ed Balls & Katya Jones managed to climb up the leaderboard leaving Anastacia and her partner Brendan Cole at the bottom.
I’ve picked my five favourite performances from the night and as always I haven’t necessarily paid any attention to the judges comments and scores…
5. Ed Balls & Katya Jones – Cha Cha
Was it technically perfect? No. Was it the best routine of the night? Not by a long shot. Ed and Katya always entertain though and this was their best routine. Ed’s timing was impressive and he threw himself into the routine.

4. Danny Mac & Oti Mabuse – Foxtrot
Danny experienced a bit of a stumble during last night’s show when he went wrong during his Foxtrot. I thought he pulled it back and gave a solid performance despite the issues. He’s still the one to beat for me.

3. Louise Redknapp & Kevin Clifton – Charleston
Louise really let her hair down for the Charleston and unleashed her fun side. It was good to see a different side to her and she was fast and furious in the ballroom. The costumes and make-up were amazing too!

2. Claudia Fragapane & AJ Pritchard – American Smooth
Claudia had her best week yet and she’s starting to think like a dancer rather than a gymnast. The song choice for the routine was a bit odd but Claudia danced her socks off and her technique was awesome.

1. Laura Whitmore & Giovanni Pernice – Tango
Laura Whitmore came back fighting this week and her Tango was stunning. It’s the ace she needed to prove she should still be in the competition after pulling out last week due to an injury. I hope this Laura continues to show up on Saturday nights.
