Hanna gets help

Hanna (Ashley Benson) broke free from her captor last week and we were left with our jaws on the floor when she bumped into Mary Drake. Turns out Mary didnā€™t want to harm Hanna and took her to Spencerā€™s (Troian Bellisario) so she could be reunited with her friends. Whether or not Mary had something to do with Hannaā€™s kidnapping is still up for debate but for now she seems to have some good in her.

Too many broken hearts

Hannaā€™s return threw a spanner in the works for not one but two couples this week. First up were Spencer and Caleb (Tyler Blackburn). Spencer grew increasingly more worried about her boyfriendā€™s feelings for Hanna when he rallied round his former girlfriend upon her return. Eventually Spencer, who got sacked from her job due to a conflict of priorities, asked Caleb if they had made a mistake with their relationship and when he spoke about them in the past it seemed that she had her answer.

Meanwhile Hanna threw herself back into life to get over the trauma of her kidnap. In a bid to ignore her feelings for Caleb, she put on her best dress and went to see Jordan (David Coussins). After remembering their first encounter, she wanted to take Jordan back to where their relationship began but she lost her temper when they discovered the bar was closed. She quickly realised she was trying top patch up a relationship that wasnā€™t working and she broke off her engagement. Then she accepted Lucasā€™ (Brendan Robinson) business offer.

The ugly face of jealousy

Liam (Roberto Aguire) arrived in Rosewood and before he got chance to explain why he was there, Aria (Lucy Hale) broke up with him. Once that bombshell was dropped Liam announced that he was back working on Aria and Ezraā€™s (Ian Harding) book and told her he would be editing it. He assured Aria there would be no problem but his first meeting with Ezra turned into an angry scene of obvious jealous on Liamā€™s part. Aria confronted him about the meeting and he told her of his suspicions that Ezra seduced her when she was his student. Aria tried to explain that it wasnā€™t as straightforward as Liam thought and the two got locked in a stalemate.

Bedside manner

Emily (Shay Mitchell) was upset when she found out that Ali (Sasha Pieterse) was no longer allowed any visitors without Dr. Rollinsā€™ (Huw Collins) express permission. She appealed to him to let her see Ali but he refused. Following a distressed called from Ali, Emily hatched a plan to use Mary to get to Alison but Spencer shot her down twice. Eventually Emily ran into Mary at The Radley (shortly after Mary had come clean to Spencer about the death of a child being blamed on her when it was actually Jessicaā€™s fault, and she admitted thatā€™s why she was sent to Radley) and she got Mary to agree to accompany her to see Alison.

Sweet talking the nurse on duty, Mary and Emily got into Alisonā€™s room but their time was cut short when a furious Dr. Rollins arrived and threw them out. Emily witnessed Rollins and Mary having a heated argument and texted her friends telling them that there was something going on between the two. We saw Mary and Rollins argue that Rollins had gone too far and Mary admitted she hadnā€™t yet got her hands on Aliā€™s money.

As the episode drew to a close Ali was drugged and moved out of her roomā€¦
