Back in February we announced the development of The Wild Eight for PC and Xbox One. The project has moved on since then and developer 8 Points has now launched a Kickstarter campaign.
The developers are seeking $50,000 in funding to bring in extra talent to help them finish the project this year. In the first 24 hours the campaign has already secured nearly $10,000 from backers. Backers who pledge at least $5 will qualify for one of the rewards on offer.
The game tells the story of eight people whose everyday lives are forever changed after a horrific plane crash. They now find themselves stranded in the middle of nowhere, deep in the forests of Alaska. Welcome to the world without civilization, where you and the other survivors are at the mercy of nature — and wild animals starved by the cold!

While the survivors await rescue, their lives are threatened by a number of mysterious entities, unseen creatures, and objects that definitely don’t belong in this world. The deeper you go, the harder it gets to survive.
The Wild Eight features a procedurally-generated world and quest system ensuring that every playthrough is a fresh, challenging experience. You will encounter wolf packs, raging bears, and other wild animals ready to make you their next meal
You can play The Wild Eight on your own, but the game fully opens up in co-op mode. Other players are your only backup — either by sharing resources or covering your back! Even if you were mauled by wolves and you are dead, your teammate can still resuscitate you with a defibrillator.
