C2C: Country To Country 2015 is over half way through now and there are four more acts left to perform on the main stage before we say goodbye for another year.

Following Kip Moore and Brantley Gilbert is Jason Aldean, one of the most successful recording artists of any genre from the past decade. Aldean has only just released his latest album Old Boots, New Dirt in the UK along with his back catalogue.

He will be the penultimate performer on the C2C main stage today and before his appearance he took time out to speak to the press.

Discussing his new album Old Boots, New Dirt and the ‘bro country’ label Jason said, ‘I think the whole bro country thing is a little over-played at this point. There are a lot of artists that have songs that fit that. For anybody that bothers to listen to the whole album you see there’s more to it than just that.’

Miss That Girl, one of the songs from Jason’s latest album, has been picked up by UK despite not being a single. ‘I love that song. Certain songs like that are songs that anybody who has ever been in a relationship, or a relationship gone wrong, can relate to that.’

Jason admitted that he didn’t know what to expect when he came to Europe. ‘Coming over here I didn’t know what to expect. I was excited and a little nervous. Dublin was crazy so I liked that. Charles Kelley from Lady Antebellum told me I’m going to love London. When you get on stage and look at and see people singing, it feels like home.’

How does his balance his busy tour schedule and recording new material? ‘It’s the 10th year for us out on the road touring. It’s a matter of just making it work. For me typically I tour for February through end of October. Then I’m off and we’ll start a new record in those three months. When you look at your year a lot of the time it’s like a big puzzle. Touring for us is what drives everything.’

Jason Aldean will perform on the C2C main stage later today.
