Top 5 Strictly Come Dancing 2014 week 10 performances

Around The World week arrived on Strictly Come Dancing 2014 last night as the remaining 7 couples took to the Ballroom to secure their place in next week’s quarter-final.

The show was full of surprises and poor EastEnders star Jake Wood had a bit of a disastrous evening which saw him plummet down the leaderboard with his partner Janette Manrara. At the top of the leaderboard was Caroline Flack and her partner Pasha Kovalev who performed a incredible Turkish themed Charleston.

We’ve selected our Top 5 dances from last night’s show. Keep reading to find out who made the cut.

5. Mark Wright & Karen Hauer

Mark Wright finally got his chest out last night for his Las Vegas themed Salsa. There were lifts, plenty of energy and Karen Hauer as a show girl! What more could you want? Once again we thought Mark was underscored last night.

4. Pixie Lott & Trent Whiddon

Kudos to Pixie Lott and her partner Trent Whiddon for doing something a little different with their Viennese Waltz. The Dutch theme worked well and they injected plenty of humour into what can be a dull dance.

3. Simon Webbe & Kristina Rihanoff

Simon Webbe and Kristina Rihanoff’s Waltz was simply beautiful. It looked gorgeous and the snow falling at the end really topped it all off. If they aren’t in the final we’ll be pretty shocked.

2. Frankie Bridge & Kevin Clifton

Frankie Bridge danced in heels on a surf board! That alone deserves plenty of credit. Kevin Clifton crafted a really fun Jive that really embraced the USA theme and we loved watching it.

1. Caroline Flack & Pasha Kovalev

Caroline Flack came back fighting this week and her Turkish themed Charleston with Pasha Kovalev was one of her best dances yet. Those lifts had us gasping! Good work!

Strictly Come Dancing 2014 continues at 7.15pm tonight on BBC One. Tune in to find out which couple will leave the competition.
